"Located near the opera house in Hanoi's Old Quarter, this Bill Bensley-designed property is a glamorous homage to the excess of the Roaring Twenties in Vietnam. Rooms are not only spacious, they're beautifully eye-catching, thanks to a mix of colors, patterns, and textures," the U.S. travel magazine commented.

It is also the only Vietnamese hotel in the top 100 best new resorts in the world as ranked by Travel + Leisure.

"If there's a Vietnamese phrase to describe Capella Hanoi, it's “tinh te” (delicate). A 'tinh te' state of mind is a process of careful selection. Both nuances of “tinh te” are present in Capella Hanoi,"  the magazine wrote on its website in April this year.

Last year, the 47-room hotel was one of best new accommodations in Asia-Pacific according to travel megazine DestinAsian’s The Luxe List 2021.

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Located on Ngo Quyen street, Hanoi's Hoan Kiem district, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi placed eighth, with 95.65 points.

Metropole Hanoi Hotel was first opened in the early years of the 20th century by two independent French investors. On July 1, 2009, it became the first Sofitel Legend Hotel in the world.

Park Hyatt Saigon

Park Hyatt Saigon in Lam Son Square, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City was 14th on the list with 93.71 points.

Its beautiful location opposite the Opera House is the most appreciated criterion of this hotel. It is within easy walking distance of main attractions like Doc Lap Palace or Duc Ba Cathedral, according to travel site Booking.com.

Previously, Park Hyatt Saigon was ranked fourth in Travel + Leisure readers' list of the 10 best city hotels in Asia for 2019.

The remaining 12 hotels in order include The Oberoi (New Delhi), Taj Palace (New Delhi), Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, Shangri-La Singapore, Mandarin Oriental (Bangkok), Taj Lands End (Mumbai), The Leela Palace New Delhi, Grand Hyatt Tokyo, Raffles Singapore, Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Capella Singapore and Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.

The ranking is part of the World’s Best Awards 2022 conducted by Travel + Leisure annually. Hotels (including safari lodges) were rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.

"Asia is a land of extremes - superlatives like longest, tallest, largest, and busiest are often used to depict the destination's myriad cities and attractions. Major metropolises like Chiang Mai, Tokyo, and Seoul - all meccas for food, culture, and history - made Travel + Leisure's 2022 list of best cities in the world," the magazine wrote.
