HCMC ready for spectacular fireworks display to celebrate national holidays

Ho Chi Minh City is getting ready for a spectacular fireworks display at five different locations to celebrate the Reunification Day on the night of April 30.

There will be one high-altitude fireworks show at the mouth of the Saigon River tunnel in Thu Duc city.

The other four will be at the Thao Dien villa area and Van Phuc Urban Area also in Thu Duc city, the northwest industrial park in Cu Chi and Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11.

The 15-minute firework displays will begin at 9 p.m.

Visitors in the city center during the holiday can choose from several locations to watch the fireworks:

1. Bach Dang Wharf: a central spot in District 1 with a clear view of the fireworks.

2. Saigon River Park: located near the high-altitude fireworks show in Thu Duc city and the low-altitude display in Thao Dien residential area.

3. Rooftop bars and restaurants in the city centre such as Katinat, Liquid Sky Bar, Majestic Saigon Hotel, and Sofitel Saigon Plaza.

4. Chang Vang Rooftop in Thu Duc city with a prime viewing location by the Saigon River.

5. Boat cruises on the Saigon River, including ROS Yacht Club, Ben Nghe, Indochina Queen, and Hon Ngoc Vien Dong.

One of the recommendations is a double-decker river bus tour offering views of the fireworks from the river, which costs between $10 and $15 per ticket, depending on the seat class.
