Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet launched on Sunday direct routes between Hanoi and Japan’s top travel destinations Nagoya and Fukuoka.

The Hanoi-Fukuoka route will see three return flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while there will be four return flights between Vietnam's capital and Nagoya on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with almost five hours flying per leg.

Following the routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi to Tokyo and Osaka, new routes to Nagoya and Fukuoka have offered passengers more options when flying with VietJet between both countries.

Fukuoka, Japan's second-largest port city after Yokohama, is known for its beautiful beaches, ancient temples, diversity of nature, and rich culture. Nagoya is well-known for its landmarks like Nagoya castle and Atsuta shrine.

Private carrier VietJet Air in late June announced the launch of seven new international air routes linking the central city of Danang to Singapore, South Korea, and India.

From July, four to seven flights per week would connect Danang with Busan in South Korea, the five biggest and most populous cities in India - namely New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore - and Singapore.

Previously, on June 22, the low-cost carrier revealed two new services from New Delhi and Mumbai to the resort island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam's Kien Giang province, starting from Sep. 9.

The Mumbai-Phu Quoc route will see four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while there will be three flights per week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for the New Delhi-Phu Quoc route.

Vietnam lifted health declaration requirements on April 27 and dropped its Covid-19 testing requirement for people entering the country on May 15.
