Vietnamese private conglomerate Thaco launched its second Emart hypermarket in Vietnam Thursday as part of its ongoing expansion.

Vietnamese private conglomerate Thaco launched its second Emart hypermarket in Vietnam Thursday as part of its ongoing expansion.

The new store, Emart Sala, is located in the Thu Thiem area of Thu Duc city on HCMC’s outskirts. Thaco said it would provide modern and differentiated shopping experiences to customers.

The conglomerate’s third hypermarket, Emart Phan Huy Ich, also in HCMC, is set to open later this year.

Thaco subsidiary Thiso Retail, set up in late 2021, completed acquisition of South Korea’s Emart Inc.’s retail business in Vietnam, including Emart Go Vap, the only Emart store opened by the Korean firm till then. The outlet is in HCMC’s Go Vap district.

Thaco chairman Tran Ba Duong had said in August that they plan to launch at least 20 Emart stores across the country by 2026.
