An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a comprehensive, third-party verified document that discloses standardized information about a product’s environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle - from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal.

Developed in accordance with EN 15804+A2 and ISO 14025, each EPD is based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), independently verified by an accredited third party and registered under the EPD International System.

For businesses pursuing sustainability or aiming for green building certifications, EPD offers a credible basis for selecting materials with lower environmental impacts — supporting responsible sourcing and carbon-reduction efforts.

In the context of Vietnam’s strong commitment to sustainability, green building standards such as LEED, LOTUS, EDGE, GRESB, and Green Mark are becoming increasingly prevalent.

Accordingly, the use of materials with verified environmental transparency, such as alloy-coated steel products supplied by NS BlueScope Vietnam for the project segment, enables investors to achieve higher levels of green certifications and mitigates the risk of greenwashing.

In addition, the use of EPD-certified materials allows for more accurate assessment of environmental and life cycle costs, enabling more efficient long-term planning and driving both economic performance and sustainable outcomes.

NS BlueScope Vietnam is the first alloy-coated steel manufacturer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to achieve ResponsibleSteel™ site certification - a globally recognized standard for ESG practices in the steel industry.

The company has also received additional green recognitions, including Singapore Green Building Product (SGBP) certification and LEED Gold certifications for its green office buildings.

Concurrently, NS BlueScope Vietnam's strategic product lines - COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel, incorporate advanced technologies applied in numerous large-scale projects nationwide.

These include ACTIVATE™ alloy coated technology for exceptional corrosion resistance, ensuring superior longevity and resilience for a wide range of applications; and THERMATECH® solar reflectance technology to help reduce roof temperatures and enable more energy-efficient buildings.

NS BlueScope Vietnam is known for its high-quality coated and painted steel products with advanced technology and innovation.

Operating in Southeast Asia and the west coast of North America, NS BlueScope is a joint venture between BlueScope and Nippon Steel, with more than 2,500 employees across 30 sites in six countries.
