Samsung Electronics, PVOIl, Petrolimex among top 10 largest firms in Vietnam
Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen (SEVT), Petrovietnam’s subsidiary PVOIL, and fuel retailer Petrolimex topped the list of largest enterprises in Vietnam in 2024.
According to the Vietnam Report 500 (VNR500), which ranks the top 500 major firms in the country, SEVT, a subsidiary of South Korea’s electronics giant Samsung, has been the only foreign-invested enterprise consistently ranked among the top 10 since its entry into Vietnam. Vietnam Report JSC is a local ranking company.

SEVT, part of Samsung Vietnam, received its investment license in March 2013 and began operations in March 2014 with an initial capital investment of $5 billion.
Following SEVT in the rankings were PVOIL, Petrolimex (HoSE: PLX), Vingroup (HoSE: VIC), Agribank, BIDV (HoSE: BID), military-run telecom giant Viettel, Vietinbank (HoSE: CTG), Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited, and mining group Vinacomin.
Several foreign-invested enterprises also appeared in the report’s Top 50, including LG Electronics Vietnam Haiphong, Thai-owned C.P. Vietnam, Unilever Vietnam, Prudential Vietnam, and Cargill Vietnam.
