Silversea Cruises to re-launch Asia yacht service next month

Silversea Cruises, the world's leading super luxury yacht company based in Monaco, will reopen its cruises around Asia from December after a gap of more than two years.

The cruises are expected to stop at several Vietnamese cities.

The company’s fleet of four yachts - Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Muse - will cruise around Asia from December 2022 to May 2023.

Its new season in Asia includes 25 trips ranging from 10 to 20 days, with some itineraries including destinations in Vietnam.

The Silver Muse, for instance, will bring 596 guests to Asia for the first time since March 2020. This yacht will leave Singapore on December 2, 2022 and visit Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

One of two voyages through Vietnam is a Hong Kong-Singapore cruise, January 19-29, 2023, that will visit Ha Long Bay, Danang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.

The second, February 12- 26, 2023, will sail from Hong Kong to the islands of the Philippines and other cities in Vietnam.

The first international cruise to Vietnam after Covid-19 happened early October, when the Le Laperouse yacht of Ponant (France) brought international tourists to the Con Dao port in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province before embarking on a tour of several Vietnamese localities.

Vietnam received 2.36 million international arrivals in the first 10 months of the year, 18.8 times year-on-year, but down 83.7% compared to the same period in pre-pandemic 2019.

Tourism revenues in the period reached VND19,700 billion ($792 million), 3.9 times year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
