Koastal Eco Industries Co., Ltd., under Singapore’s Koastal Group, has signed an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract to build a $4.3-million wastewater treatment plant in Vietnam’s southern province of Tay Ninh.

The facility, with a daily capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, is set to process all wastewater from plants in the Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Zone, invested by the namesake company, under conglomerate TTC Group JSC.

Construction of the facility is set to begin later this quarter. The facility, also Koastal Eco Industries’ sixth project in Vietnam, will process the post-treatment mud into compost fertilizer.

The Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Zone is now home to over 100 businesses with over 30,000 laborers in Tay Ninh and nearby provinces. A majority of businesses in the industrial park are in the sector of dyeing fabric. The industrial park will be expanded by 500 hectares, to 1,520 hectares in total, with a goal of becoming an eco-industrial park.

Tay Ninh province recorded a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 6.12% in 2023, according to provincial data. The growth was driven by an 8.08% increase of the industry sector, 2.96% of agriculture, 7.64% of construction, and 6.05% of services. The province's index of industrial production (IIP) rose 9.03% last year.
