The Investor joined hands with Hoi An South Development Ltd. and Danang Golf Association to organize the "Swing for Investment" golf tournament in Quang Nam province Saturday.

The tournament, held at the central province’s Hoiana Shores Golf club, was part of a forum on "Promoting golf tourism and investment in the Central and Central Highlands regions."

More than 100 golfers from across the country participated in the tournament. Golfer Trinh Chung outperformed more than 100 golfers to win the champions cup.

"Golf tourism was a tourism product with great potential that could make an important contribution to attracting international tourists to Vietnam, especially group visitors from key markets like South Korea, Japan and Europe," said Nguyen Anh Tuan, Editor-in-chief of The Investor and head of the tournament organizing committee.

The Central and Central Highlands regions have great topographical advantages for golf tourism development, hosting diverse landscapes including semi-desert terrains, majestic hills, long coastlines, beautiful beaches, and rich ecosystem.

With high-quality golf courses combined with impressive beaches and luxury resorts, the central region is considered Vietnam’s "golf tourism paradise."

However, golf tourism development in this area has been limited due to the lack of direct flights to some localities, weak links between tourism agents and golf courses, and the tourism service system not fulfilling the growing requirements of tourists.

In this context, The Investor organized the forum and the golf tournament in order to connect investors, exchange experiences and recommend solutions to overcome shortcomings and limitations. The forum has received the support and enthusiastic participation of many domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.

At the post-tournament awarding ceremony, experts and golfers shared experiences and opinions about the need for investment in developing the golf course system as well as supporting industries for the golf industry.

They also identified potential solutions to put golf tourism in the Central and Central Highlands regions on the global map, making practical contributions to the development of the tourism industry in particular and the country's socioeconomic growth in general.

Hoiana Shore Golf Club (HSGC), under the Hoiana Resort & Golf complex, is one of three golf course projects in Quang Nam province that has recently become an attractive destination for international visitors, particularly enthusiasts of the game.

HSGC is a coastal link course with a smooth design following the natural terrain, with a view of the Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands). It has reached international championship standards and won many prestigious awards. In the first three months of 2023, this golf course attracted 21,500 visitors, 95% of them foreigners.
