Tiny green market with big heart: HCMC meets demand for healthy food
Indigenous, local specialties produced by innovative startups are among thousands of quality products on display at the "Phien cho xanh tu te” (Kind Green Market) held this weekend in Ho Chi Minh City.
Organizers said the four-day (April 20-21 and 27-28) market at 135A Pasteur street, District 3 will gather products from more than 50 of Vietnam’s 63 localities.
Jointly organized by the Business Studies and Assistance (BSA) Center and the Business Association of Vietnamese High Quality Products, the market is now in the eighth edition after its 2016 inauguration.

It brings together farmers, cooperatives, traditional artisan communities and new entrepreneurs who produce fresh agricultural products and regional delicacies.
The use of paper bags by shoppers reflected a greater awareness and consensus on the need to conserve the environment and build clean green areas, organizers said.
Vu Kim Anh, deputy director of the BSA Center, said the market has little space, but receives big support from local residents looking for clean agricultural products.
The eighth edition of the market will not only serve high-quality items, but also have activities that allow customers to experience and enjoy culinary specialties of Vietnam’s three major regions.
