Vietnam launches national data center for digital society, economic development
Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security launched a national data center on Tuesday, which will serve as a foundation for developing digital products and reliable state databases.
The data center, an assignment by the government to the Ministry of Public Security, aims to integrate, synchronize, store, share, analyze, exploit, and coordinate data of state agencies.
It also seeks to establish a comprehensive human data repository and a data warehouse synthesized from national databases.

The national data center acts as a core platform for data-related services, supporting policy-making, fostering development, and facilitating the construction of a digital government, digital society, and digital economy.
It also plays a crucial role in ensuring national defense and security while serving as a key driver of prosperity in the digital era.
The center provides technology infrastructure to socio-political organizations, national database systems, and other agencies that require data access for improved operational efficiency and enhanced cybersecurity.
Regarding technological and security infrastructure for the center deployment, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang emphasized the urgency of constructing and completing the necessary infrastructure to ensure the center becomes fully operational by August 19.
