Vietnamese, Indian firms exchange 27 agreements on aviation, tourism, logistics, technology

Vietnamese and Indian firms on Thursday exchanged 27 cooperation agreements aimed at boosting trade, investment, tourism and training between the two countries, thereby making bilateral partnership deeper, more practical and effective.

The document exchange took place within the framework of the Vietnam-India Business Forum in Mumbai, Maharashtra state, in the witness of Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and President To Lam, Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, and senior leaders from both countries.

The signed agreements demonstrate a significant expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, covering trade and investment promotion, aviation connectivity, airport infrastructure development, logistics, tourism, pharmaceuticals, high technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainable agriculture, and new energy.

Expanding trade-investment promotion cooperation

At the event, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) signed memorandums of understanding with several major Indian business organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham), and the Indian Business Federation (IBF).

The deals focus on strengthening information exchange, coordinating trade and investment promotion activities, and connecting the business communities of the two countries. These are considered an important foundation for promoting capital flows, trade, and manufacturing cooperation between Vietnam and India in the new phase.

In addition, the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and the India International Arbitration Center (IIAC) signed an MoU on supporting dispute resolution and sharing experience in commercial arbitration, contributing to improving legal support mechanisms for businesses from both countries as they expand cooperation.

Aviation and airport infrastructure – a cooperation highlight

One of the most notable groups of agreements at the forum focused on aviation, airport infrastructure, and related services.

Vietnam Airlines and JP Morgan Chase signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation in cash flow management, aircraft financing, financial governance solutions, and related areas.

Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist Group, and Innovations India agreed to cooperate on cultural and tourism projects, with a focus on producing the film SILA and organizing the Namaste Vietnam event to promote tourism and strengthen connections between the two markets.

In the field of aviation infrastructure, Vietnam’s Sun Group and India’s GMR Group announced cooperation in airport infrastructure development. The agreement aims to upgrade aviation infrastructure to international operating standards, cooperate within Sun Group’s airport ecosystem in Vietnam, and study the development of new flight routes connecting Phu Quoc island in the southern province of An Giang (formerly Kien Giang province) with key airports in GMR Group’s network.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways LLC, a subsidiary of Sun Group, and Minar Group also announced cooperation to promote Phu Quoc as a destination and expand the distribution network of Sun PhuQuoc Airways in the Indian market.

Vietjet Air and GMR Airports Limited signed a cooperation agreement in aviation services, airport services, air transport, logistics, non-aviation commercial services, passenger experience, and opportunities for airport development and operation in Vietnam.

Additionally, Vietjet Air and Bird Group signed a strategic cooperation framework in tourism, hotel operations under the Roseate chain in India, ground handling services, technology, and digital transformation.

Vietnamese tourism expands access to Indian market

Vietnamese and Indian tourism companies signed multiple agreements aimed at increasing visitor exchanges, developing tourism products, and promoting destinations.

Vinpearl, the hospitality arm of Vietnamese private conglomerate Vingroup, signed strategic partnership MoUs for the 2026-2028 period with Thomas Cook, SOTC, and MakeMyTrip. The agreements focus on sharing market information, coordinating marketing and sales activities, improving service experiences, and promoting Vietnamese tourism and the Vinpearl brand in India.

Vietravel signed an MoU on tourism and travel business cooperation with MakeMyTrip. Saigontourist signed another with WOW India Travel & Tours to strengthen cooperation in product development, market expansion, and improving visitor experiences. Orchid Indochina and Zenith Leisure Holidays also signed a deal in tourism and travel cooperation.

These agreements show that businesses from both countries are leveraging the significant growth potential of the Indian tourism market, especially as travel demand, leisure tourism, and aviation connectivity between the two nations continue to increase.

Focusing on logistics, maritime services, and supply chainsIn logistics and maritime services, Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) signed a cooperation agreement with Century Plyboards (India) Ltd, also known as Century Group, to develop Vietnam-India container routes and logistics infrastructure.

VIMC also signed a framework contract with Seahorse Ship Agencies Pvt. Ltd. to develop container shipping services connecting Vietnam and India.

These agreements are expected to enhance maritime transport capacity, shorten supply chains, promote goods trade between the two economies, and strengthen connectivity between Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Promoting cooperation in high tech, pharmaceuticals, industry, agriculture

In pharmaceuticals, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation and Hetero Labs signed an MoU on technology transfer, distribution, and commercialization of Hetero Labs’ high-tech products in Vietnam.

In materials technology, Q&T Polymer High Technology Co., Ltd. and Pigments & Allieds signed an agreement on establishing a strategic partnership through a joint venture producing high-tech polymer materials in India.

TVL JSC and Hempshier Steel Pvt Ltd signed an MoU on supplying and expanding stainless steel coil products in the Indian market.

In industry and trade, INVESIFY International Co., Ltd. and Jayashree Group signed an investment consulting agreement in Vietnam for automobile parts manufacturing. Asian Star Diamond & Jewelry Co., Ltd. and Asian Star Group signed a cooperation agreement to develop the Vietnamese market for diamond products.

In agriculture, Marina Capital, a member of Invest Global Alliance, signed an MoU with The All India Spices Importers Federation (AISIF) to promote spice exports between Vietnam and India.

Bioway Group and Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) signed a cooperation agreement to implement and evaluate Bioway technology that converts organic waste into fertilizer in India’s Telangana state. The two sides will cooperate on pilot demonstration models, scientific testing, sustainable waste management, and the development of organic fertilizer production.

EVs, digital transformation, and AI open new areas of cooperation

In the electric vehicle sector, 365 Group JSC and Statiq signed an MoU to develop EV charging station infrastructure in Vietnam, transfer and localize fast-charging technology, cooperate on energy storage systems and EV fleet management solutions, and explore co-investment opportunities in EV charging stations in Vietnam and ASEAN.

In digital transformation and AI, Toc Do Media Trading JSC signed an agreement to transfer AI solutions applied in retail chain management with an Indian enterprise operating in technology, energy, and AI sectors.

The agreements in these emerging technology sectors show that Vietnam-India cooperation is expanding into high value-added fields aligned with digital economy development, green transition, and innovation trends.

The exchange of 27 agreements at the Vietnam-India Business Forum demonstrates that economic cooperation between the two countries is evolving from traditional trade exchanges toward deeper collaboration in investment, infrastructure, technology, services, and value chains.

Notably, many deals focus on highly connected sectors such as aviation, airports, logistics, tourism, and digital transformation. These areas are all aligned with Vietnam’s development needs while leveraging India’s strengths in market scale, technology, services, and human resources.
