VILAF law firm wins three awards at IFLR Asia Pacific Awards 2024

Vietnamese law firm VILAF has won three awards at the IFLR Asia Pacific Awards 2024 held on Wednesday at the St. Regis Hong Kong.

The awards include Vietnam Law Firm of the Year for the company's outstanding deal track records in the year; Equity Deal of the Year – $500 million J&T Express IPO; and Project Finance Deal of the Year – 600MW Monsoon Wind Project.

The $500 million J&T Express IPO was the second largest IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2023, while the 600MW Monsoon Wind Project was the first cross-border renewable energy project in the ASEAN area.

The IFLR Asia Pacific Awards annually recognizes firms and their work in the Asia Pacific region that has exhibited innovativeness, sophistication, and complexity in cross-border transactions in the areas of capital markets, M&A, private equity, project finance, restructuring, and structured finance.

VILAF chairperson Duyen Ha Vo said that the awards serve as "a testament to the breadth and depth of VILAF’s exceptional legal services".

VILAF was also shortlisted for the IFLR Asia Pacific Awards 2024 in the following categories.

- Deal of the Year: Debt-and equity-linked Vingroup exchangeable bonds

- Deal of the Year: M&A – Citi’s sale of consumer banking business to UOB

- Deal of the Year: M&A – VinFast and Black Spade business combination

VILAF has been consistently ranked as Tier 1 in Vietnam by prestigious international legal editorials including Legal500, Chambers, IFLR1000, Asia Legal Business, AsiaLaw and Inhouse Community and is one of the largest law firms in Vietnam.
