Water solutions firm Ecolab opens new plant in southern Vietnam
Ecolab, a U.S.-headquartered firm that provides water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, inaugurated a manufacturing plant in the southern province of Dong Nai on Thursday.
The new facility “demonstrates Ecolab's continued commitment to supporting customers, innovation, and sustainability in Vietnam and throughout Southeast Asia,” the firm said in a release Friday.
The $3-million, 3,000-square meter facility, featuring an advanced laboratory, manufacturing facility and warehouse, will employ 100 local people for making sanitation and water purification products, Nikkei Asia reported.

“Industrial customers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia will benefit from the Ecolab’s expertise, technology, and solution delivery,” Greg Harris, principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, said at the event.
Dong Nai, an industrial hub in Vietnam, is now home to 33 industrial parks covering 10,514.7 hectares, with 31 already operational.
As of 2023, industrial parks in Dong Nai had leased out 6,024.4 out of 7,033.1 available hectares, or 85.66%, to tenants, according to provincial data. It had attracted foreign direct investment of $29.59 billion into industrial parks as of end-2023, of which $22.71 billion was disbursed.
The province kicked off 2024 by granting investment certificates to eight projects worth $373 million on January 8. This included one to domestic firm Ho Nai Industrial Park JSC for the real estate developer to raise its investment by VND871 billion ($35.8 million) to VND1,805 billion ($74.1 million).
