1.1 mln Honda motorbikes sold April-September in Vietnam
Honda Vietnam recorded sales of 1.1 million motorbikes from April to September, up 31.7% year-on-year, according to its latest report.
In its September report for the fiscal year 2023 (from April 2022 to March 2023), the subsidiary of Japan’s Honda said it sold 250,132 motorbikes in September, up 151% year-on-year and 26.1% over August.
Wave Alpha was the top-selling semi-manual transmission model with 51,990, or 20.8% of the total. The best-selling automatic transmission model was Vision with 55,284 units, or 22.1% of the total. Winner X topped the sales chart for manual transmission motorbikes with 11,444, or 4.6% of the total.
The motorbike maker exported 13,910 completely built-up (CBU) motorbikes in the month.

Honda sold 15,938 cars in the same period, up 117.9% year-on-year, including 1,970 in September, up 233.9%. The biggest sales were of the CITY model with 1,114, or 56.5% of the total; and CR-V with 715, or 36.3%.
Honda accounts for 80% of the motorbike market share in Vietnam, the firm said last year during its 25th anniversary celebrations in the country.
