After 30 years in Vietnam, Swedish multinational food packaging and processing firm Tetra Pak remains committed to increasing its investment in the country, says executive vice president for market operations Tatiana Liceti.

At a recent ceremony marking the 30-year presence, Liceti said Vietnam was one of the most dynamic markets in the Southeast Asian region, providing favorable conditions for Tetra Pak Vietnam to grow strongly.

She recalled that the company entered Vietnam 30 years ago by supplying the first filling machine to Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk), marking the beginning of a new era for aseptic packaging in Vietnam.

Since then, the company has witnessed remarkable growth in Vietnamese food and beverage brands and “truly feels honored to accompany Vietnam in this journey,” shesaid.

Highlighting the tremendous growth potential in the Southeast Asian market, particularly Vietnam, Liceti reiterated that her company was more committed than ever to the Vietnamese market and would continue to increase its investments here.

The expansion of its aseptic carton packaging facility in Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam, expected to be completed in the second quarter of next year, is a clear testament to the commitment, she added.

The facility, the first of its kind in the country, was inaugurated by Tetra Pak at the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park 2 (VSIP 2) in July 2019. Tetra Pak’s eighth factory in the Asia-Pacific region produces aseptic cartons for domestic and export markets in ASEAN, Australia, and New Zealand.

With its new production capacity, the facility will also enhance service quality and support customers in seizing new opportunities and achieving exceptional successes together, she said.

The company will continue to provide advanced global processing and packaging solutions, promote sustainable development goals, and foster innovation to meet the dynamic needs of the Vietnamese market, she added.

According to market research firm Euromonitor, Vietnam’s food and beverage (F&B) industry has undergone significant changes over the last 30 years, driven by the nation’s economic growth, urbanization and changing consumer preferences. It is projected to reach a value of VND872.9 trillion ($35.24 billion) by 2027.
