Beach destinations remain popular choices for Vietnamese travelers over Tet holidays
Da Lat, Nha Trang and Danang remain the top 3 most searched destinations offering a harmonious combination of stunning natural beauty, beautiful beaches and vibrant cultures to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday (Tet), according to Booking.com.
Tet is a time for joyous reunions, time-honored traditions and journeys brimming with hope for the year ahead. It is also a time when Vietnamese people travel back to their hometowns to reconnect with loved ones or travel together to create lasting memories as they usher in the new lunar year together.
From exploring beach destinations and breathtaking landscapes to indulging in cultural experiences and local cuisines, Vietnamese travelers are embracing the festive spirit with exciting journeys across the country.

Beach destinations remain popular choices
The Tet holidays provide an opportunity for Vietnamese travelers to escape from the chaos and immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of the coastal environment.
According to the Travel Predictions 2024 research by Booking.com, one of the world’s leading digital travel companies, travelers are seeking cooler destinations to escape the heat, with 82% of Vietnamese travelers citing an interest in water-centric vacations this year.
This is reflected in the top 10 most searched destinations by Vietnamese travelers for domestic travel, where six out of the 10 destinations are beach destinations like Nha Trang, Danang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, and Hoi An.
Besides beaches, bustling cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with street vendors selling numerous traditional Tet delicacies; the ancient town of Hoi An, adorned with thousands of lanterns; or the mountainous terrain of Sapa, with awe-inspiring rice terraces, are also destinations Vietnamese travelers are exploring this Tet.
According to the research, the top 10 most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese people traveling from February 8 to February 14, 2024 are Da Lat town, Nha Trang town, Danang city, Vung Tau town, Phu Quoc island, Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Hanoi, Sapa town, and Hoi An town.
The top 10 most searched international destinations by Vietnamese travelers in that time are Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Sydney (Australia), Osaka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Taipei (Taiwan), Melbourne (Australia), Hong Kong, Kyoto (Japan), and Singapore.
Vietnam will celebrate the upcoming Tet festival as a seven-day holiday - from February 8 to February 14, 2024. The holiday will run from the 29th of the 12th lunar month in the Year of the Cat to the 5th of the first lunar month in the Year of the Dragon.
