Central Highlands province to transform coffee district into tourism hub

Kon Tum province plans to transform Dak Ha district, famous for its eponymous coffee brand, into a tourism hub that will attract 20,000 visitors in 2025 and 30,000 in 2030.

For this the district will mobilize resources for developing the infrastructure in tourism locations, particularly the Kon Trang Long Loi community cultural tourism village.

Local authorities also aim to attract investment into the Dak Uy special use forest's tourism area for ecotourism, leisure tourism, safari and scientific research; and for construction of homestay facilities combined with entertainment as part of exploiting attractions of the Plei Krong hydropower reservoir.

Dak Ha district plans to build one more community cultural tourism facility in Kon Gung and Dak Mut villages of Dak Mar commune by 2030.

It also aims to attract tourists to the beautiful and large church in the Dak Ko Dem village, Dak Ui commune and the Mua Xuan Dam, a historic site in Dak Ngok commune.

The district plans to have at least one hotel of two stars or more; and at least one local travel agency.

Dak Ha lies 20 kilometers to the north of Kon Tum town. Among the attractions that can boost its tourism potentials are the Po Ko river, Plei Krong hydropower plant, the 659.5-hectare Dak Uy special use forest, many freshwater reservoirs, and two historical sites.
