Central Vietnam province Binh Dinh calls for investment in $48 mln shrimp farm
The central province of Binh Dinh is calling interested investors to submit bids for a 219 hectares hi-tech shrimp farm complex with an estimated investment of VND1.18 trillion ($48.2 million).
The mega project, located in My Thanh township, Phu My district, will have a duration of 50 years from the date of land delivery. Construction must not exceed 54 months and full operations must start from the second quarter of 2028 at the latest.
The envisaged project will include a shrimp processing factory with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons that can earn export revenues of $200-240 million a year. Its aquafeed plant will have a capacity of 100,000 tons a year.
The project will also operate a shrimp seed facility of 7,000 tons a year and a farm that will produce two billion whiteleg shrimps a year.
The deadline for submitting bids is 7:30 a.m, November 6.

Binh Dinh recorded a fisheries output of 223,744 tons in the first nine months of this year, up 2.6% year-on-year, according to provincial data. This included 212,692 tons of harvested products and 11,051 tons of farmed products.
The south-central province produced nearly 1.76 billion whiteleg shrimp, down 58.4% year-on-year because the Binh Dinh 3 unit of Thailand-invested CP Vietnam halted production in May citing weak demand in the region.
