Karcher has inaugurated the second phase of its cleaning equipment manufacturing plant in Danang city, nearly two years after the first phase began operations, as the German company expands production capacity to meet growing global demand.

Karcher Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd., a unit of the group, on Thursday held an inauguration ceremony for the second phase of the project. The factory is located within the Indusvalley Chu Lai ready-built factory complex, developed by Indusvalley Chu Lai JSC, a member of An An Hoa Group.

Following the launch of the first phase in October 2023, Karcher has continued to expand its manufacturing footprint in Vietnam by adding new technology lines amid rising international demand. Construction of the second phase began in July 2025.

The factory manufactures high-pressure washers, industrial cleaning equipment, surface cleaners, and components and spare parts for those products.

The project covers more than 62,600 square metres, including approximately 26,400 sqm in the first phase and 36,250 sqm in the second. Total investment stands at nearly VND958 billion ($40.6 million).

"The completion of the second phase is more than an expansion in floor space. It is a testament to our growth and a strong statement of confidence in the future," Wolfgang Thomar, executive vice president of Karcher Group, said at the inauguration ceremony.

He said the expanded facility would not only increase production capacity and incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies but also create new opportunities to develop the local workforce.

Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Danang People's Committee, said the first phase of the Karcher factory had delivered positive results since operations began, reflecting the factory's stable production, high product quality, and its increasingly important role in Karcher's global supply chain.

Binh said Danang is investing in integrated infrastructure to attract high-tech manufacturing, processing and supporting industries as part of its broader industrialization strategy.

Among key infrastructure projects, the city plans to begin this year construction on the Cua Lo shipping channel, develop a seaport capable of accommodating 50,000-ton vessels, and continue efforts to upgrade Chu Lai Airport into an international aviation hub for central Vietnam.

Therefore, he hopes Karcher Vietnam Technology will serve not only as a successful investor but also as a bridge connecting Danang with the German business community.

"We hope the company will continue promoting Danang's investment environment and the development potential of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to German and European businesses, industry associations and investors," Binh said.

He said he hoped that more German and European companies would explore investment opportunities in sectors that Danang is prioritizing for foreign investment.

Danang is a hub for economic development and tourism in central Vietnam. Last July, Danang and Quang Nam province were merged to form the new Danang.

Founded in 1935 by Alfred Kärcher in Winnenden, Germany, Karcher remains a family-owned company headquartered near Stuttgart.

The company manufactures high-pressure washers, vacuum cleaners and cleaning solutions for household and industrial use. Through its Karcher Futuretech division, it also develops emergency response and defence-related technologies.

Karcher is the world's largest cleaning technology company, employing more than 17,000 people. It operates 170 subsidiaries across 87 countries and 17 plants worldwide.
