Cybersecurity firm Acronis to invest $50 mln in Vietnam
Global technology company Acronis planned to invest $50 million in Vietnam over the next few years, expecting to open an office and R&D center by 2023.
The Vietnam office will collaborate with Acronis’s R&D centers in Bulgaria and Singapore to develop "cutting-edge cyber protection solutions" for the company, according to a corporate release.

Acronis, founded in Singapore in 2003 and incorporated in Switzerland in 2008, develops on-premises and cloud software with unique integration of backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and endpoint management. Its products are available through over 50,000 partners and service providers in over 150 countries and 26 languages.
Vietnam is now seeking to master core products under a completed cybersecurity system to ensure the country’s cybersecurity. Towards the goal, the Ministry of Information and Communications has proposed that 10% of the budget of any information and communications technology (ICT) project should be allocated to cybersecurity.
The Government is offering incentives for cybersecurity products in its "Make in Vietnam" strategy. The strategy calls on businesses to design, create and manufacture products in Vietnam instead of outsourcing them so that the country’s global presence can be enhanced.
