Famed Indian actress falls for Vietnamese food
Actress Avika Gor, who played Anandi in the well-known Indian TV series "8-year-old bride", says that Vietnamese food is healthy and helps her lose weight every time she visits Vietnam. She wants to introduce Vietnamese food to more Indians.
The Indian actress visited the headquarters of the International Mix Joint-Venture Company (Intermix), the owner of the Mikko Huong Xua brand, on Tuesday morning, and met with company officials and workers. Mikko Huong Xua specializes in baking powders and food.
Avika Gor made and enjoyed traditional Vietnamese pancakes and many other types of cakes while she was there. "I see that there are many types of cakes in Vietnam that use rice flour or are filled with beans or nuts, just like many cakes in our country," she said.

Avika Gor told The Investor that Vietnamese food is delicious and healthy. "Vietnamese food is really soothing to my body. I want a lot of Indians to try it.
"A lot of Vietnamese food is made of rice flour and has a lot of beans and seeds, which is very similar to what we do in India. We just use a lot of spices; that's the only difference," she said.

Huynh Phuong Trinh, deputy general director of Intermix, said that the Indian market's potential for flour products is very large due to its huge population and the many dishes that are made using flour. The company is currently finding ways to enter the Indian market.
Mikko Huong Xua products have already reached dozens of countries, of which the U.S. and Australia are the largest markets. The best-selling product is "banh xeo" powder. The powder comes from rice, and "banh xeo" is a popular cake in the Mekong Delta.

Vu Kim Hanh, president of the High Quality Vietnamese Goods Business Association, said that India is a market of more than 1 billion people that many Vietnamese businesses are currently interested in.
"If Vietnamese businesses do a good job of understanding Indian consumers and market tastes, this is a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to export their products to India," she added.
Huynh Kim Chi, general director of Intermix, said among the many Vietnamese people who have watched and enjoyed the TV series "8-year-old bride", there are many workers at the company.
