Foreign investors’ net buying peaks in 2 weeks
After many net-selling sessions, foreign investors on Wednesday turned net buyers on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) to the tune of about VND100 billion ($4.26 million), the highest since the beginning of this month.
This was the second session in a row that recorded foreign investors' trading value surpassing VND1 trillion ($42.6 million).
HPG of steel maker Hoa Phat was net bought most with a value of VND215 billion ($9.16 million), followed by VIC of Vingroup and VHM of Vinhomes.
The VN-Index, which represents the HoSE, went down 5.47 points, or 0.51%, to 1,060.44, with up to 246 tickers losing and 141 gaining.

The main bourse in Vietnam saw more than 836 million shares changing hands for nearly VND13.3 trillion ($567 million), a rise of VND2 trillion from the previous session.
The finance-banking group continued to attract cash flows with nearly VND3.7 trillion ($157.7 million), followed by industry and real estate with VND 2.25 trillion ($95.93 million) and VND2 trillion ($85.27 million), respectively.
The VN30 index, which tracks the performance of 30 largest-cap stocks, declined 7.54 points to 1,062.1, with 23 losers and six gainers.
Banking stocks were under the strongest selling pressure, with VPB of VPBank, CTG of Vietinbank, TCB of Techcombank, and MBB of MBBank down 2.04%, 1.61%, 1.85% and 1.86% respectively. Oil and gas, steel and securities groups were also in red.
The HNX-Index on the Hanoi bourse lost 1.76 points to 212.86, while the UpCOM-Index on the unlisted public company market went down 0.09 points to 80.57.
