Foreign investors net sell $69 mln in 5 sessions
Foreign investor selling put great pressure on the Vietnamese stock market in the last five sessions, with a total net selling value of up to VND1,619 billion ($69.24 million).
VN-Index dropped 31.68 points to 1,149.61 on Wednesday, with 395 stocks losing (30 hit the floor) and 73 gaining (one soared to the ceiling). This is the lowest level since February 17, 2021.
HNX-Index fell 6.02 points (2.17%) to 271.92, while the unlisted public company market UpCOM-Index, dropped 0.97 points (1.11%) to 86.22.
On the three exchanges, there were 708 losers (60 hit the floor) and 224 gainers with total liquidity of VND15,088 billion ($645.3 million), down 5% compared to Tuesday’s session.
Foreign investors net sold to the tone of nearly VND750 billion ($31.1 million) on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), focusing on FUEVFVND fund certificates, GAS, VCB, VHM, HPG, MSN, HDB, CTG, VRE, and PNJ.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange and UpCOM, foreign investors net sold more than VND17 billion and VND29.3 billion, respectively.
On the three exchanges, foreign investors net sold a total of VND795.8 billion ($34.06 million) on Wednesday.
This was also the fifth session that foreign investors had maintained a net selling position.
