The Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel in downtown Hanoi is being offered for sale starting at $250 million, with a new owner expected this April.
The hotel is located at a "golden site" - B7 Giang Vo street in Ba Dinh district. The current owner is Hoa Binh Co. Ltd., which has invested over $100 million into the property.
The Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel was built on a total area of 2,237.5 square meters including four basements and 25 floors.
Opened in early July 2020 after about 18 months of construction, it was expected to become one of the world's most luxurious hotels.
The hotel has a 250-millimeter reinforced concrete structure, 350-millimeter thick wall, and grade eight earthquake-resistance floors. Notably, the hotel's construction materials are said to be more durable than the Colosseum and Pisa tower in Italy.
The property targets the rich, politicians, businessmen, billionaires, among others. It has 342 five-star standard rooms, including eight standard meeting rooms.
The structure has a neoclassical design combined with modern features. Both outside and inside finishes and lots of items are covered with gold.
All interior fittings sparkle the color of gold.
The stair handrail is also inlaid with gold.
The hotel has a five-star restaurant serving Asian and European dishes.
All knives, forks, spoons, bowls, and plates in the banquet hall are covered with gold.
The four-season infinity pool on the roof is 225 square meters wide with a panoramic view of Hanoi.
The outdoor bathing area next to the pool uses 24K gold-plated tiles, faucets, and shelves.

According to Nguyen Huu Duong, chairman and CEO of Hoa Binh Co., Ltd., the company is selling the property due to its difficult cash flow situation.
Currently, several companies from China, India, the United Arab Emirates, and other markets reportedly have shown interest to acquire the hotel. The company expects the acquisition to be announced this April.
