Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited has registered real estate as a new business line, marking an expansion beyond its traditional gold and jewelry operations.

According to the National Business Registration Portal, the company on Tuesday added business activities related to real estate and land-use rights owned, used, or leased by the enterprise.

The Hanoi-based firm also updated and broadened several other operating fields, including technical testing and analysis services such as gold content testing, as well as brokerage and auction services, retail of gold, gemstones and jewelry, and retail of jewelry cleaning products.

Bao Tin Minh Chau was founded in 1995 by Vu Minh Chau in Hanoi. At its inception, Chau served as legal representative, chairman, and CEO. The company began with charter capital of VND100 billion ($3.8 million), with Chau holding 90.17% and his son, Vu Phuong Nam, owning 9.83%.

In January, the company named Pham Lan Anh as director and legal representative. Its charter capital has increased to VND400 billion ($15.21 million), with Chau holding 97.542% and Nam owning 2.458%.

According to information published on the company’s website, Bao Tin Minh Chau has built a nationwide network of more than 200 agents and operates three business locations in Hanoi after more than three decades of development. Its main product lines include Thang Long Dragon gold bars and various jewelry products.

In Hanoi’s gold market, five jewelry brands carry the “Bao Tin” name: Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai, Bao Tin Thanh Van, Bao Tin Hong Quan, and Bao Tin Hoang Long. All five brands are owned by siblings in the same family, descendants of the late goldsmith entrepreneur Luong Thi Diem.

Financially, the company’s revenue has grown strongly in recent years while profits have remained modest. In 2024, Bao Tin Minh Chau posted VND6.95 trillion ($264.4 million), up 396% year-on-year. It earned VND49.1 billion ($1.87 million), up 10 times from the year earlier. As of end-2024, its cash flow was negative VND231.6 billion ($8.81 million).
