Everwin Precision Technology Vietnam Ltd. is set to embark on construction of a $200-million electronic component factory in Nghe An province next month.

Its parent company, Hong Kong Everwin Precision Technology, is a supplier of components for Apple, Xiaomi, and Huawei.

The 43-hectare factory is located in the VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, developed by Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries and Vietnam's Becamex.

The project was licensed in January 2021 with a designed output of 270 million items a year, all for export.

Its key products are metal components, cable wires, plastic parts of smart appliances and new-energy automobiles, among others. The project can employ 15,000 staff, including 1,000 expatriates.

According to local authorities, this project’s investment capital is the second-highest in the central province, on par with an electronic and automobile component factory by Taiwan-based Ju Teng International Holdings Limited and only behind an electronic component factory worth $500 million by Goertek.

The province has attracted $1.8 billion in registered foreign direct investment (FDI) since 2019. Notably, Goertek, Everwin, JuTeng, and Luxshare ICT announced investments of nearly $1.1 billion into the local electronics and technology sector.

Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of Nghe An, said at a conference last week that the province is accelerating preparations to welcome more FDI, including the development of 2,000 hectares of industrial land; transport infrastructure, including Cua Lo deep-water port; upgrading and expansion of Vinh Airport; sections of North-South Expressway; and a strong workforce of an additional 45,000 annually, including 30,000 trained staff.
