Luxury train carriage The Vietage captures central Vietnam's beauty
Vietnam’s luxury train carriage The Vietage, linking coastal Danang city and Quy Nhon town, was described by South China Morning Post as offering "endless bucolic scenes of rural Vietnamese".
"The gentle tilting of the train lulled and rocked me toward relaxation,” journalist Chris Dwyer wrote on Monday. “I snoozed on and off beneath soft blankets, but mostly I remained glued to the cinematic scale of the carriage window."
Complete with sleek-lined modern interiors, big picture windows and large comfy seats, the custom-designed opulent carriage comes with 12 reservation-only seats.
"Although from the outside it looks just like all the other carriages, albeit with spotlessly clean paintwork, inside, The Vietage is a whole different world," the article read.
Launched in 2020 by Anantara Hotels, one of the world's most luxurious hotels, the six-hour train ride offers a wide range of options to satiate their taste buds. From a sit-up bar equipped with local craft beers and wines to an exclusively-curated menu that evokes the essence of Vietnam with a French twist, there’s something for everyone on board.
This carriage is connected with the SE5 train at Danang Station in the morning and return with the SE8 train from Dieu Tri Station in Quy Nhon town in the afternoon the same day.
The train was reopened on April 1 after a halt due to Covid-19.
In late 2021, The Vietage was named by CNN as one of the six most amazing Asia train journeys. The global cable news network wrote: "For travelers seeking a more comfortable experience, The Vietage offers a stark contrast - and a price tag to match at $350 per person one-way."
Danang city and Quy Nhon town in Binh Dinh province are central Vietnam's top coastal travel destinations.
Danang is frequently referred to as the most livable in Vietnam, and it is located near several UNESCO world heritage sites, including Hoi An, Hue, and My Son Sanctuary.
