Bac Ninh, an industrial province near Hanoi, will get two more large-scale wastewater treatment plants in the VSIP Bac Ninh II and Yen Phong I industrial parks each.

The one at VSIP Bac Ninh II is designed with a daily capacity of 7,000 cubic meters, and the other, 12,000 cubic meters. The second is the expansion of the existing plant in Yen Phong I. Ecoba ENT Company is serving as the main contractor for both.

Both projects, launched late last year and early this year respectively, are expected to help lure more investors to the two industrial parks.

VSIP Bac Ninh II was built by Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Co., a JV between a consortium led by Singapore's Sembcorp Industries and Becamex IDC Corp., a Vietnamese conglomerate based in the southern province of Binh Duong. Sempcorp has been investing in Vietnam for more than 25 years and has established 12 VSIPs. The VSIP projects are seen as a symbol of economic ties between Vietnam and the island state.

Yen Phong I was built by Viglacera Corporation, another established industrial real estate developer in Vietnam. It is home to the plants of many foreign investors, including Samsung, Orion, Flexcom, Dongsin, Mobase, and Dawo Vina, among others.

VSIP JV and Viglacera typically attach importance to wastewater treatment in their projects.
