Danang People’s Council, the city’s legislature, on Tuesday dismissed its Vice Chairman Le Minh Trung after he was removed from all Party positions in late May over “a lack of morals”.

The council voted with a 96% ratio for the 2021-2026 term dismissal.

After considering the Central Inspection Committee’s proposal, the Party Secretariat on May 26 concluded that Trung had violated the regulations on Party members' conduct and the Law on Marriage and Family.

His violations have caused “negative public opinion, affecting the reputation of Party organizations and state agencies”.

On April 26, a woman working at a high school in Danang posted a Facebook photo taken with Trung, who has a family. This person wrote that she had a child with him. Danang's Party Committee then directed relevant authorities to clarify the case.

Trung, 46, was elected vice chairman of Danang People’s Council in July 2018.
