The committee on Wednesday concluded that Thanh and Chuyen had violated the Party’s regulations and the State’s laws in performing their responsibilities and assigned tasks. The two men also breached the rules on Party members’ code of conduct and responsibility to set an example as leaders.
Their violations “caused serious consequences and bad public opinions, undermining the reputation of Party organizations and the local government to the extent that they must be subject to disciplinary action.
Vuong Binh Thanh retired in April 2019, after nearly two terms as chairman of An Giang province’s People’s Committee (2010-2015 and 2016-2021).
Tran Van Chuyen was elected chairman of Soc Trang province’s People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term in July 2016. In November 2020, he retired.
