Former KienlongBank leader appointed Vietbank CEO

Vietnamese private lender Vietbank has appointed Tran Tuan Anh, former general director of KienlongBank, as its general director from August 14.

Vietnamese private lender Vietbank has appointed Tran Tuan Anh, former general director of KienlongBank, as its general director from August 14.

From October 2021, Nguyen Huu Trung, Vietbank's vice chairman, was its acting general director.

Tran Tuan Anh, 46, has a bachelor's degree in finance and credit and a master's degree in law.

She was former deputy head of HDBank’s real estate service division, former head of the bank's legal division, and assistant to general director cum head of the legal division. Later she became a board member and deputy general director of Viet Capital Bank.

From July 2014 to February 2018, Anh was deputy general director of KienlongBank. In February 2018, she was appointed acting general director of this bank and then general director from April 2018 to October 2021. From April 26, 2018 she was a board member.

Vietbank reported net interest income of VND440 billion ($18.5 million) in the second quarter of the year, down 23%, and after-tax profit of VND136.8 billion ($5.7 million), down 38%.

In the first six months of the year, the bank posted net interest income of VND919 billion ($38.6 million) and after-tax profit of VND294.4 billion ($12.4 million), down 1% and 5%, respectively.

As of June 30, Vietbank's total assets stood at VND115.7 trillion ($4.86 billion), up 4% compared to the beginning of the year, of which customer loans were up 8.8% to VND68.53 trillion ($2.9 billion). Customer deposits were also up 6.4% to VND80.88 trillion ($3.4 billion).

Vietbank, listed on the unlisted public company market UPCoM as VBB, finished at VND12,000 ($0.5) per unit on Tuesday's close.
