Under the comprehensive cooperation agreement inked last Friday, Eximbank and Viettel will work as partners, cooperating in fields suitable with respective capabilities, business strategies and strengths while committing to maintaining long-term, effective cooperation in their development process to optimally tap domestic and foreign market potentials.
Eximbank will ensure delivery of appropriate credit and financial services for Viettel, while the latter, with its strengths, reputation and experience in telecommunications, information technology and digital transformation, will provide the former with appropriate solutions, helping the lender formulate and implement an overall and comprehensive digital transformation plan.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Eximbank acting CEO Nguyen Hoang Hai said the lender wished to cooperate with Viettel on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, efficiency, safety and respect for law.
During their five-year cooperation deal, the two sides will coordinate on building and developing products and services associated with digital transformation, meeting the strong development needs of the fourth Industrial Revolution, he said.
“With a sustainable development strategy that takes innovation in technological thinking as its core, the bank will strive to create special landmarks in cooperation with Viettel,” he said.
Currently, Eximbank was focusing on investing in systems, people, and asset quality with the goal of regaining its previous position in the financial market, he stated, expressing the hope that the agreement will form a premise for both parties to set more specific and effective goals.
Nguyen Thanh Nam, deputy CEO of Viettel, said that telecom giant was now the No. 1 network service provider, accounting for 56.5% of the domestic mobile market share and held the largest market share in six international markets. It was also affirming its key role in national digital transformation through cooperation agreements with more than 100 agencies/organizations.
