Violations by Nguyen Anh Tuan, head of the Ministry of Finance's price management department, have caused "very serious consequences", the Central Inspection Committee stated Friday.

The inspectors issued the statement after reviewing evidence of violations by the department’s Party committee in the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 terms.

They concluded that the department's Party Committee had violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; showed a lack of responsibility, loose leadership and proper direction. This resulted in the department and some individuals violating the Party's regulations and State laws when managing and inspecting the prices of Covid-19 test kits.

The inspectors concluded that Nguyen Anh Tuan, head of the department; and two deputy chiefs - Dang Cong Khoi and Nguyen Van Truyen - were responsible for the violations.

These violations have caused very serious consequences, including great damage to the State budget and social resources, adversely affecting efforts to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the reputation of the Party organization and State management agencies. The extent of violations deserves disciplinary action against those responsible, the Central Inspection Committee said.

The inspectors requested the Party committees of the Ministry of Finance and the Price Management Department to take remedial action to address the violations’ consequences. They said the two committees should consider disciplinary measures against relevant organizations and individuals.
