The VND3,150 billion ($135.8 million) project in Son La province includes a cow farm that will also offer eco-tourism services, and a high-tech milk processing plant.

The cow farm will cover 150 hectares, while the 26-hectare plant is designed with a daily capacity of nearly 500 tons of milk in the initial phase, which will double in the second phase.

The first phase is set for completion by 2024, said Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien, also chairwoman of Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony last Saturday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the significance of green technology and green environment in developing the project. He said the project is expected to help shift the province’s agriculture towards modernity, increase added values, and establish a sustainable agricultural production and consumption chain.

Of the total investment, about $12.9 million will be spent on eco-tourism purposes and landscaping.

Son La authorities expect the eco complex to become a key tourist destination that will further boost provincial economic growth.

Located about 200 kilometers to the west of Hanoi, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, Moc Chau Plateau in Moc Chau district offers a cool and fresh atmosphere, side-by-side tea hills, and lots of greenery.
