Northern Vietnam home to world's longest glass bridge

The Moc Chau Island Tourist Area in Son La province is set to launch a 632-meter-long glass bridge on April 30, reportedly the world's longest glass bridge.

The inauguration of the Bach Long (White Dragon) bridge is planned as one of the mountainous province’s most significant tourism highlights for the Reunification Day holiday, local officials said.

The width of the main bridge deck is 2.4 meters, while that of the glass approach on the cliff is 1.5 meters. The two suspension towers are 30 meters high each. The height between the bridge deck and the ground is about 150 meters.

The tourist area, one of Son La’s most popular destinations, is completing procedures to seek Guinness world record recognition as the world’s longest glass bridge.

Apart from the bridge area, visitors can participate in activities like bungee jumping, zording, ziplining, swinging over an abyss, or visit Muong Mooc cave.

The site is part of Moc Chau Plateau, a region of cool temperature, tea hills and ethnic villages. About 200 kilometers west of Hanoi and around 1,000 meters above sea level, the plateau lures visitors with its average temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius. These conditions make Moc Chau one of the best choices to escape the urban hustle and bustle.
