State Securities Commission has new vice chairman
Hoang Van Thu, deputy director of the Ministry of Finance's corporate finance department, has been appointed vice chairman of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) effective from last Friday.

Previously, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc appointed Luong Hai Sinh, then chairman of the wholly state-run policy lender Vietnam Development Bank (VDB), to the position of vice chairman of the SSC from February 1, 2023.
In January, Vu Thi Chan Phuong was appointed chairwoman of the SSC after more than six years as the regulator’s vice head. She is the first chairwoman since the commission was established in 1996.
In May 2022, the finance minister dismissed Tran Van Dung from the position of chairman due to serious violations and shortcomings. Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi had been directly in charge of the entity since the end of May 2022.
