Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches Singapore route, connecting two of Asia's 'paradise' islands
Sun PhuQuoc Airways has officially announced the launch of its scheduled flights from Vietnam's largest island Phu Quoc to Singapore.
Beyond connecting two of Asia's key island destinations, Sun PhuQuoc Airways' entry marks the very first time a full-service carrier will operate this route, unlocking opportunities to welcome high-spending international travelers to Phu Quoc.

A full-service turning point for the route
The direct flight between Phu Quoc and Singapore is currently one of the region's most vibrant international routes, operated daily by low-cost carriers.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways's official ticket launch on May 20 (with the maiden flight scheduled for July 25, 2026, at a frequency of one flight per day) is more than just an increase in flight options. It represents a strategic move to fill the gap in the mid-to-high-end market segment.
As the first full-service airline to spread its wings on this route, Sun PhuQuoc Airways introduces an entirely new standard of travel, the carrier said in a release.
Passengers will enjoy a comprehensive all-inclusive service on every flight, including hot meals, standard checked baggage, and a modern wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
Notably, the Business Class cabin - featuring private spaces, premium seating, and priority privileges will perfectly meet the stringent demands of business travelers and upscale tourists from Singapore, who place a high value on comfort and a seamless experience throughout their journey.
To celebrate the launch, Sun PhuQuoc Airways is rolling out a special promotion for the Phu Quoc-Singapore route, with fares starting from just VND1,793,000 ($68) one-way.
This promotional rate applies to flights departing within one month from the maiden flight date. Additionally, passengers booking the Singapore-Phu Quoc leg will enjoy a 20% discount on the base fare for tickets purchased between May 20 and June 19, 2026.
Furthermore, when flying with the airline, travelers will receive complimentary Sun World Hon Thom cable car tickets and exclusive discounts of up to 30% on accommodation, dining, spa, and entertainment services within the Sun Group ecosystem in southern Phu Quoc.
A journey connecting two of Asia's leading resort islands
The addition of a direct route by a new carrier carries profound meaning for the connection between these two iconic travel islands.
While Singapore stands as a modern city-state and one of the region's busiest financial and aviation hubs, Phu Quoc boasts pristine beauty, a mild climate, and world-class luxury resorts. This perfect complementarity allows travelers to effortlessly find a balance between a fast-paced lifestyle and an isolated vacation retreat, all in a flight time of under two hours.
Thanks to its visa-free policy for all international tourists, Phu Quoc is becoming an ideal destination for short weekend getaways for Singapore residents as well as the expatriate community working there.
Data from Skyscanner reveals that searches for Phu Quoc from users in Singapore have surged by 184% compared to the same period last year, propelling Phu Quoc to the number two spot on the list of trending destinations for 2026.
Moreover, as a massive transit hub welcoming up to 70 million passengers annually, a presence at Changi Airport opens a major gateway for Phu Quoc to directly access premium international tourist flows from all over the world.
The competitive edge of Sun PhuQuoc Airways on this route comes not only from its premium in-flight service but is also backed by a synchronized ground strategy.

Sun Group's takeover of operations at Phu Quoc International Airport, alongside its partnership with Changi Airports International (CAI) - the entity that propelled Changi to be named the "World's Best Airport" for 14 consecutive years is gradually turning the "airport destination" model into reality.
This alignment of service standards from Changi Airport to Sun PhuQuoc Airways's full-service flights, through Phu Quoc International Airport, and finally to Sun Group's five-star resort ecosystem promises a seamless, world-class journey for travelers.
In a climate of fluctuating global travel costs, the on-schedule network expansion of a full-service carrier demonstrates Sun PhuQuoc Airways's robust operational capability and long-term vision under its "Rise to Asia" strategy, steadily driving Phu Quoc toward its position as a new trade and tourism gateway for the region.
