A company representative disclosed the information at a meeting with Quang Ninh's Party chief Vu Dai Thang during his visit to the plant on occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The plant, located in the Amata City Ha Long (Song Khoai) Industrial Park in Quang Yen town, has a total investment of $154 million.

It specializes in manufacturing automotive safety products for cars and other motor vehicles. Once operational, it will produce approximately 10 million products per year, primarily for export.

Currently, all stages of construction, equipment installation, and worker training are progressing. The construction items are expected to be completed by February.

To ensure the project’s progress, as of February 3, 100% of Autoliv Vietnam's staff and its contractors had returned to work.

On its Facebook page, the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi announced on Monday that Autoliv’s airbag cushion plant is soon to be operating in Vietnam.

“Located in Amata City Ha Long Industrial Park, the new facility will produce airbag cushions and fabric to meet growing demand in Asia. The site area covers 90,000 sq.m and this exciting investment will create up to 2,000 jobs in Quang Ninh – further strengthening Vietnam’s role as a key player in global manufacturing,” the embassy wrote.

In January, Autoliv Vietnam posted a recruitment notice on its Facebook fanpage, seeking workers for various positions, including cut workers, beam threaders, warehouse workers, warehouse team leaders, sample room workers, and beaming workers. These positions are available for immediate employment after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Autoliv Vietnam officially kicked off construction of the plant on July 10, 2023, with Investcorp as the main contractor responsible for the design and construction.
