Taiwan’s MiTAC Technology spends $38 mln on building Vietnam factory
MiTAC Holdings Corporation, a major electronic producer in Taiwan, has spent $38 million on building its factory in Vietnam.
In a Thursday filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), MiTAC said construction took place between January 2024 and January 2025.
The cost included $28 million for design and engineering fees and $10 million for production line infrastructure. The move aims to increase the firm’s manufacturing capacity, MiTAC added.

The latest figure is higher than MiTAC’s original estimation of $28 million, according to a January 2024 filing of the firm.
MiTAC Technology (Vietnam) Company Limited received an investment registration certificate for its $66 million project in December 2023. The project is set to cover 7.9 hectares in the Nam Ha Noi supporting industrial park, Hanoi.
The project has an annual capacity of 110,400 servers, 21,900 computers, 99,210 industrial computers, 1.45 million PCBA, 811,690 dash cameras, 527,070 artificial intelligence (AI) items for Internet of Things (IoT), and others.
The firm aims to build the factory and recruit workers until May 2025, then partly operate the plant from June 2025, and reach full operation from December 2031.
