Top 5 places selected by Vietnamese migrants
Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, the central city of Da Nang, Can Tho city in Mekong Delta, and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong are the top five locations chosen by Vietnamese migrants in a recent national survey.
The Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) report 2021, whose goal is to help the national government improve its performance at all levels, has identified the top five cities and provinces.
The report listed three primary reasons why Vietnamese residents migrate. The first reason is to gather with family. Moving to HCMC and Hanoi better serves job hunts, while resettling in Da Nang, Lam Dong, and Can Tho aims at a better living environment.
HCMC is Vietnam's largest city and the southern economic hub, also known as the city that never sleeps.
According to the report, Hanoi may have less of a cosmopolitan flair than HCMC, but it is a more cultural hub. The climate is cooler, and you have easy access to all of Vietnam's beautiful northern locations, including Sa Pa, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay.
Da Nang is Vietnam’s third largest city where people can enjoy mountains, beaches, and urbanization. The location is ideal for digital nomads with international incomes as you may live comfortably on a little budget, according to the report.
Bac Lieu, Kon Tum, Lai Chau, Lang Son, and Ninh Thuan are all among the least preferred provinces in the survey.
People are relocating due to economic, social, and political considerations, boosted by the fourth wave Covid-19 in 2021.
Amid the global pandemic last year, just 1.6% of people wished to relocate out of their regions, compared to 6.8% in 2020, the report said.
