Vietjet marks 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu historic victory with more flights
Budget carrier Vietjet will operate more flights to Dien Bien Phu town to meet increased travel demand during the upcoming celebration of the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory.
On the Hanoi-Dien Bien and Ho Chi Minh City-Dien Bien routes, the frequency for each route will increase to 14 during the May 3-11 week, instead of the current 12 flights a week.
The increase in the number of flights aims to serve both citizens and tourists travelling to Dien Bien Phu town, Dien Bien province to visit the site of an "illustrious victory" that "shook the Earth", freeing Vietnam from the clutches of colonial France.

The Dien Bien Phu battlefield made famous by the defeat of the French colonial regime in 1954. The battle raged for 56 days before Vietnam's decisive victory spelt the end of France's colonial rule in Indochina and paved the way for national independence.
Besides its military history, Dien Bien province boasts several scenic spots and landmarks including the Pa Khoang Reservoir, Tham Bang Cave, Ban Phu Citadel and the Museum of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Vietjet has also added 86,000 seats (equivalent to more than 450 flights) for the five-day holiday to celebrate the National Reunification and May Day from April 27 (Saturday) to May 1 (Wednesday) on major tourist routes, increasing the frequency of flights to and from HCMC, Hanoi, Danang and Nha Trang.
