Seino, one of Japan’s top logistics groups with over 90 years of experience, officially became a strategic shareholder of ITL on August 1.

Seino-ITL Logistics is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City. By leveraging ITL’s extensive infrastructure, workforce, and nationwide network, the new joint venture aims to build a comprehensive LTL logistics network across Vietnam and establish itself as a market leader in this segment.

This partnership marks a bold step toward becoming a pioneer in professional LTL services in Vietnam, said Sam Sang, CEO of Seino-ITL Logistics. Seino’s mission is to provide leading LTL transport solutions that are efficient, flexible, and sustainable, enabling businesses to grow and compete, he added.

Seino-ITL Logistics operates a modern fleet of container trucks and double-deck vehicles, serving both LTL and FTL shipments. Customers can book transport via phone, email, or website, and track shipments in real time via the company’s Track & Trace system. The joint venture promises clear delivery schedules, competitive pricing, and secure handling of goods.

The venture will also benefit from ITL’s status as a national brand of Vietnam, boasting integrated logistics solutions backed by over 3,000 employees, more than 40 offices and distribution centers across Vietnam and neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

ITL currently operates over 500,000 square meters of warehouse space, a fleet of more than 700 tractors and trucks, and 1,200 trailers nationwide.

According to Sam Sang, Seino-ITL Logistics will focus on developing road freight services that connect Vietnam’s three key economic zones - North, Central, and South - offering optimized distribution strategies that unlock the full potential of the domestic market.

With Seino’s deep expertise in LTL and ITL’s local market insights, the JV is creating a powerful synergy to help Vietnamese businesses enhance competitiveness and adapt to global integration, he said.

The establishment of Seino-ITL Logistics not only provides a new option for domestic businesses but also marks a significant step toward the professionalization of Vietnam’s logistics sector, making LTL transport a vital part of the country’s modern supply chain.

Vietnam’s logistics sector has maintained robust growth in recent years, expanding 14-16% annually. According to the National Statistics Office, in the first seven months of 2025, freight volume reached 1.67 billion tons, up 13.7% year-on-year, while cargo transport turnover rose 13.6% to 345.4 billion ton-kilometers.

These figures highlight a surging demand for road freight, long dominated by full-truckload (FTL) services. Meanwhile, LTL logistics - a more cost-efficient alternative - remains in its early stages in Vietnam but is increasingly being adopted by businesses seeking flexible solutions.
