Vingroup eyes a megacity project in Khanh Hoa

Vingroup, Vietnam’s leading real estate developer, plans to build a mega urban area in Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province from June 2023.
If approved by the prime minister, the project will take shape within two years, with prominent components being a global intelligenve center, medical and education centers, and high-end health care and resort facilities.
The project is expected to turn a rural and mountainous area into an international-class city, a leader of the corporation told Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh when he led a government delegation to the site recently.
Cam Lam will become a quality living environment and an economic, tourism and service hub of the country, assisting Khanh Hoa’s endeavor to become a centrally managed city by 2030, the representative said. Vietnam now has five centrally managed cities, namely Hanoi, Haiphong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
PM Chinh asked Vingroup to consult with experts and local residents on the investment idea. “If implemented, it must be a green, smart city, a global intelligence center, while cultural space must be reserved. The investor should create a good model of resettlement for relocated residents, ensuring them to have a better life and long-term livelihood."
In related news, the prime minister has okayed Khanh Hoa People’s Committee’s proposal to draft an urban development plan for Cam Lam and a part of Cam Ranh town. The plan aims to develop the localities into an international-standard, eco-friendly and modern airport urban area.
