Vinpearl JSC, a hospitality subsidiary of conglomerate Vingroup, plans to develop a VND3.94 trillion ($152 million) golf course in Vietnam’s central coastal province of Khanh Hoa.

According to Vinpearl's (HoSE: VPL) submission to local authorities for feedback on its environmental impact assessment (EIA), the proposed Vinpearl Hon Tre Golf Course Complex will be located on Hon Tre island in Nha Trang Bay.

This will be Vinpearl’s second golf course in Nha Trang, complementing the existing 18-hole Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang, also situated on Hon Tre island.

The project, which received in-principle approval on March 25, will cover 171.39 hectares and is expected to accommodate up to 1,989 visits per day.

The complex will feature an 18-hole golf course, a seven-story hotel, six villa blocks, and various amenities.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with operations expected to commence in December 2027. Vinpearl reports that the construction will require around 200 workers.

According to the report, Hon Tre is the largest island in Nha Trang Bay, spanning more than 3,000 hectares and located approximately five kilometers east of downtown Nha Trang. The island is an ideal location for eco-tourism, seaside resorts, and high-quality residential development.

Additionally, Hon Tre island is excluded in the list of areas required to establish a coastal protection corridor in Khanh Hoa province.

Other golf courses in the Vinpearl Golf system in Vietnam are Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong (Hai Phong city), Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An (Quang Nam province), Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc (Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang province).

In 2024, Khanh Hoa province welcomed over 10.6 million tourist arrivals, up 45.5% year-on-year, including 4.5 million foreign visitors, up 89.3%, according to the local tourism watchdog.
