World first transparent tourist submarine debuts in Nha Trang
The world's first ever see-through submersible has welcomed passengers on its first public dives in a hugely significant move for submarine tourism in Nha Trang town, a top tourist attraction in central Vietnam.

Named Triton DeepView 24, the world's first transparent tourist submersible was built by Florida-based luxury submersible company Triton Submarines. The service debuted at the Vinpearl complex in Hon Tre Island, Nha Trang town, south-central Vietnam last month.
The 24-seat vessel provides an "incomparable underwater experience" for those on board thanks to its unique hull design of 100% transparent acrylic, according to cable news network CNN.
DeepView 24, Vinpearl Submarine Nha Trang, can reach depths of up to 100 meters, with guests seated in a 15.4-meter-long interior, big enough to stand up.
The UK daily newspaper Daily Mail wrote: "Holidaymakers can now book a jaw-dropping trip on a submarine that features huge panoramic windows."
During the 30-minute dive, passengers will be able to view shipwrecks, reefs, and marine life, as well as a show designed to promote environmental awareness.
According to Vinpearl, part of Vietnam's largest listed conglomerate Vingroup, Triton DeepView 24 is "virtually silent, fully non-polluting, and produces no carbon or wastewater emissions", as a response to the increasing interest in adventure and experience-based holidays.
DeepView 24 is the most significant commercial tourism submersible to be brought to market in the past two decades, according to Triton Submarines.
In 2019, the company set a record by diving to the deepest point in the world's oceans with its 36000/2 model at the bottom of the Mariana abyss, which also helped to locate and identify a brand new species.
Hon Tre means "the island of bamboo" in Vietnamese. The island is the largest in Nha Trang Bay with an area of 36 square kilometers, reaching the highest peak of 460 meters.
Khanh Hoa province is well-known for its long sandy beach and spectacular scenery. It contains various well-known bays like Cam Ranh, Van Phong and Nha Trang.
Vinpearl Land Hon Tre or Vinpearl Amusement Park refers to the massive amusement park simulating such world-famous amusement parks in the world as Disneyland and Universal Studios.
