17 countries recognise Vietnam vaccine passports

Vietnam has reached agreements on mutual recognition of vaccine passports with 17 countries as of March 17, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The ministry's spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said the 17 countries include the US, UK, Japan, Australia, Belarus, India, Cambodia, Philippines, Maldives, Palestine, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Singapore, Saint Lucia and South Korea.
Holders of vaccine passports from these countries to enter Vietnam and vice versa are entitled to the same medical measures as those vaccinated in the host country.
This recognition includes exemption from the consular certification and legalisation procedures when using this document in the receiving country.
Besides, Vietnam is temporarily recognising the vaccination certificate samples of 79 countries and territories that have been officially introduced to the Foreign Ministry, the spokeswoman added.
A foreign vaccine passport is viewed as valid and can be used directly in Vietnam’s territory if it is officially or temporarily recognised by the Vietnamese government.
