Identifying that digital transformation is a key task, Agribank has spent a large budget on investment in development and application of information technology systems. Agribank's information technology system ensures smooth operation of an average of 35 million transactions per day and at peak up to 45 million transactions per day, with automatic transactions accounting for 91.97% of the total number of transactions.
Agribank currently has nearly 20 million customers with payment accounts, nearly 16 million customers using ATM cards, and nearly 15 million customers using payment services via Mobile Banking channel. Automatic payment methods account for about 81% of total customer payment transactions at Agribank.
Determining digital transformation as a strategic step, Agribank has proactively applied information technology, developed many banking services on digital channels and non-cash payment services such as: eKYC online account opening, contactless chip card, ePIN, payment using VietQR code, Agribank Digital Banking model, etc.
In its rural digitalization strategy, Agribank aims to use technology to simplify procedures to help farmers access the most basic services in an easy manner. Agribank plans to deploy the installation according to the roadmap of Agribank Digital automatic banking transaction machines in rural, remote and remote areas.
Each Agribank Digital machine is fully equipped with the functions of a banking transaction office such as identification, registration of biometric information (facial image and fingerprints); registration for online account opening and card issuance; registration for electronic banking services; applying for loans online; financial transactions using biometrics, etc.
In addition to maintaining the digital banking model (Agribank Digital), Agribank continues to conduct testing and implement as per the roadmap for chip-based citizen identification application to transaction activities. With this method, customers coming to Agribank for transactions only need to choose the service and sign only 1 signature without writing or filling in any information manually.
The process of opening an account, issuing cards, registering for Agribank E-Mobile banking services, taking loans or depositing money into accounts, etc. are all done quickly, safely and with high accuracy.
Implementing a digital transformation plan with specific goals and a clear roadmap, Agribank gradually improves customer experience, increases efficiency and operational quality, contributing to the early completion of the Vietnam's digital economy and digital society development goals until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
