Binh Dinh has proposed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directly intervene in removing difficulties related to farmland conversion procedures for 10 urban area projects in the south-central province.

One of these projects is the Long Van 3 Urban Area in Bui Thi Xuan ward, Quy Nhon town, invested in by a joint venture of Binh Dinh TC Construction JSC and Nhon Tan Warehouse Development and Investment One Member Company Limited.

The 38 hectare project, with a total investment of VND2.55 trillion ($108.36 million), is facing difficulties in converting about 20.79 hectares of rice fields.

The VND2.22 trillion ($94.34 million) Long Van 4 Urban Area project, also in Bui Thi Xuan ward, invested in by a joint venture between Phu Tai JSC and Nhon Tan Warehouse Development and Investment One Member Company Limited, is encountering obstacles in converting about 11.9 hectares of farmland out of its total area of 32 hectares.

Meanwhile, the VND2.25 trillion ($95.6 million) Northeast Dieu Tri Green Urban Area in Tuy Phuoc district, invested in by a joint venture of Capital House and An Binh House Service and Investment JSC, needs 40.66 hectares of its total area of 45 hectares converted.

The NDT1 and NDT2 urban areas to the west of the new National Highway 19 in Nhon Binh ward, Quy Nhon town, both invested in by the Nhon Tan Warehouse Development and Investment One Member Company Limited, have to get 22.44 hectares and 22.77 hectares of rice fields converted, respectively. The two projects are expected to cost VND3.01 trillion ($127.9 million), respectively.

Other projects with conversion problems are: the VND797 billion ($33.86 million) urban area south of National Highway 19 in Tay Son district; the VND1.46 trillion ($62 million) Tra Quang Nam Urban Area in Phu My district; the VND1.65 trillion ($70.1 million) Binh Chuong Nam Urban Area in Hoa Nhon township; the VND421 billion ($17.88 million) Cam Van New Urban Area in An Nhon township; and the VND2.48 trillion ($105.36 million) Nhon Binh New Urban Area in Quy Nhon town.
