Bosch Automotive Aftermarket (AA) Vietnam has unveiled its latest SM Mega Boost battery, the latest variation to join its extensive vehicle battery lineup, specifically for the Vietnamese market.

Bosch has partnered with Thanh Cong Battery, Bosch battery distributor in Vietnam, to launch the SM Mega Boost battery. The milestone was marked by the presence of over 300 workshops and retailers at the launch event

This is a strategic move to strengthen Bosch's foothold in the dynamic and unique Vietnamese automotive market, the German firm said in a release.

"We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Thanh Cong Battery to introduce the SM Mega Boost battery to the Vietnamese market. This collaboration aligns with our vision to expand our automotive aftermarket presence in the rapidly growing Vietnamese landscape, ensuring that consumers have access to Bosch AA's renowned quality and reliability," said Marcio Coelho, vice president of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket ASEAN.

Bach Van Dung, Thanh Cong’s director, said: "The SM Mega Boost battery is Bosch AA’s first battery product specifically for the Vietnamese market. The products are engineered and tested through rigorous methods to ensure it reaches the highest product guarantee and performance."

According to Bosch, encased in a seamless and maintenance-free design on the outside, the SM Mega Boost battery now holds a labyrinth lid with built-in flame arrestor for safety.

Furthermore, the thermoplastic casing material delivers "excellence safety and high recyclability", thanks to its use of innovation and eco-friendly materials. Besides, the SM Mega Boost battery contains a protective layer that prevents the shedding of active materials to prolong service life, whilst the negative plates are encapsulated in a tough polyethylene envelope separator to prevent the possibility of a short circuit, overheating or overcharging.

Bosch established its first representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 1994. Since 2007, the German giant has expanded its footprint in Vietnam where it has branch offices in Hanoi and Danang, as well as a Powertrain Solutions plant in Dong Nai province to manufacture pushbelts for continuously variable transmissions (CVT) in automobiles.
